Upcoming Meetings Women’s Group - Every Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. Weekly Offerings Offerings and other cash receipts for the week of August 3 were $1,900.00. The costs for each week are $1,385.00. (derived by dividing the annual budget by 52 weeks). Altar Guild Jean Eggleston and Laura Caravatt will be sharing the Altar Guild responsibilities in August. Jean will take care of the altar and Laura will display her beautiful flowers. Coffee Hour A time of fellowship following the service of worship is held in the social hall. Coffee, juice and refreshments will be served. Ushers for the month of August This is a reminder for those of you who have signed up and a notice of those Sundays that are open. Ushers August 10 Beth & David August 17 Beth & David August 24 Laura August 31 Ginny & Bob Annual Flea Market & Luncheon - August 23 The women of the United Church will be holding their Annual Flea Market and Luncheon on Saturday, August 23rd. Flea Market – 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. Luncheon – 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. This is their major fund-raiser for supplies and Church assistance. Donations (clean, functional and workable) are appreciated. Please consider helping out! Sign-up sheets are posted in the foyer. Hymn Sing on September 7 By popular demand we will be having another hymn sing on Sunday September 7, to sing some favorites and hopefully to learn some new songs. Our song leader will be George Thomson. Take some time during the upcoming weeks to reflect on your favorites and which hymns you would like the congregation to sing. Your choices may cme from the Methodist Hymnal we use each Sunday or from another hymnal. Email George directly at [email protected]. Given that this Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, the sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated the following Sunday, September 14. Ordination of Dr. Lise Margaret Sparrow We are all invited to the Guilford Community Church, for the Ordination of Dr. Lise Margaret Sparrow to Ministry in the United Church of Christ. All willing to sing in the choir please arrive by 3 P.M. (white tops, black skirts/pants, red ties/necklaces/scarves). Clergy are invited to gather at 3:45 P.M. with robes and red stoles or red upper garments, if heat demands. A reception and dinner to follow the service.
