Stewardship Campaign:
It's November, and we are conducting our annual stewardship campaign to help the Executive Board budget for 2026. Each Sunday, you will hear people share, about what stewardship means to them and to our church.
The first week, Bill Kneebone shared how the United Church supported him through his wife Susan's long illness. 1 Peter 4:10 says “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace." All members should have received a letter about how we have been sharing the word of God through our faith, time, talents and treasure this past year, as well as our plans for 2026. These include:
Plans for 2026 include:
Our aspirational 2026 budget is projected to increase 12.5%. This includes a 2.7% cost of living increase for our staff, an increase in Pastor Michelle’s pension contribution from 11% to 14% of her pay to align with the UCC VT conference standards, and a budget for supplies for Terry’s prayer blanket ministry. As we project an increase in our church’s expenses next year, we hope you will prayerfully consider how much you can support our growing ministry. We are reaching out with this Stewardship Campaign as a way to share what the United Church of Ludlow means to us and how we can best plan for it well into the future. Please consider how you can participate in our ministry for 2026. Your generosity helps strengthen who we are and what we can do together. For that we are truly grateful! Please mail your pledge card (to Bill Kneebone, PO Box 12, Ludlow, VT 05149) or drop it in the collection basket by Nov. 23, Stewardship Sunday! |
Stuffed Shells to
The United Church of Ludlow’s Stuffed Shells to Stuff Hungry Bellies dinner raised over $3,000 to fight hunger both in the world and in our own backyard, thanks to the generosity of a number of regional organizations. The church hosted the dinner on Sat, Nov. 22, in cooperation with the Ludlow Rotary Club, the Okemo Valley Women's Club, and Black River Good Neighbors.
Thank you to all individuals and organizations that volunteered or donated, including:
The Ludlow Rotary Club provided volunteers, and the Okemo Valley Women's Club provided desserts. Extra food was donated to the Mountainside House in Ludlow and the Open Door Mission, a thrift store, soup kitchen, veteran shelter, and homeless shelter in Rutland. Donations to combat hunger in our community and the world are still being accepted online. Please enter Stuffed Shells in the Special Offering line. |
Our New Sign is Here:
Our new sign has been installed! Now anyone who passes by will know they are truly welcome in the United Church of Ludlow, an Open and Affirming Congregation (United Church of Christ) and a Reconciling Congregation (United Methodist Church), no matter who they are and where they are in their faith journey.
