Pastor Michelle Fountain joined the United Church of Ludlow in Fall 2021. Her dedication to ministry, insightful sermons, and empathetic support in time of need inspire us daily. She serves on the Racial Justice Task Force for the Vermont UCC and on the Executive Board of the Windham Union Association. Her workshop on Unpacking Privilege has opened our minds and hearts about racism.
Michelle is a graduate of the Vermont Academy of Spiritual Training, and is a member of the Southwest Association United Church of Christ Pastoral Preparation Program. She holds a B.A. in English from the University of California, Davis, and a Masters in Education from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire.
She previously served as Christian Education Director and Moderator for the North Pomfret Congregational Church, and later as a deacon and member of both the Learning with Grace and Congregational Engagement Teams for Grace Congregational Church in Rutland.
On Sept.18, 2022, an Installation Service was held at the church with words, scripture and music shared by Laura Creaser, Rev. Christine Boardman, Rev. Susie Webster-Toleno, Rev. Robert Hamm, Rev. Paul Sangree, Lisha Klaiber, Beverly Anderson, Retired UCC Minister, and Ron Pulcer.
Michelle completed her Pastoral Preparation Program on June 1, 2024, and received her graduation certificate as a part of the Southwest Association Meeting at the Castleton Federated Church on June 9. We will celebrate this achievement at Wild Church in July.
