Lenten Bible Study
World Religions will be the topic for the 2016 Lenten Bible Study.
The topic for our consideration will be Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and another religion to be announced.
The book for the course is Michael McDowell and Nathan Robert Brown, World Religions at Your Fingertips. New York: Alpha Books, the Penguin Group, 2009. Copies of the book are available for $16.00. See Bill Kneebone for your copy.
Additional religious texts and assignments will be distributed in the class and posted on the webpage of the church.
The class will meet in the Ladies Parlor on Wednesday afternoons at 2:00 P.M. beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 10.
The other sessions will be held on February 17, February 24, March 2, March 9, March 16, and March 23.
All are cordially invited to attend.
VALENTINE’S DAY DINNER
The Annual Valentine’s Day Dinner will again be held on
Friday, February 12 at the Landgrove Inn.
This has been a well-attended tradition over the years.
To get started, we need to know the number of people who wish to attend. This joyful event is for everyone; you just need to be yourself, not part of a couple.
Typically there is a choice of entree; the meals are great as are the desserts.
At this point we just need to know names and numbers so that negotiations on specifics can go forward with the inn keepers.
Please contact David Almond or Bob Kottkamp if interested.
Hearts Project and Hearts Distribution
On Sunday, February 7, the Hearts Project will be complete for the year. Many, many thanks go out to Nancy Hagge for organizing us all.
Many hands have cut fabric, sewed hearts, filled hearts, and stitched them up.
Now, we are looking for people to do the other fun part....hanging the hearts. We have 10 homes that we want to surprise.
On this Sunday, please stop by the fellowship hall to see how you can help. Sandy Peplau has the names and addresses of the homes.
