“The great gift of Easter is hope - Christian hope,
which makes us have that confidence in God,
in his ultimate triumph, and in his goodness and love,
which nothing can shake.”

Needs and Prayer Concerns
Needs and Prayer Concerns
In Chinese calligraphy the word crisis is made up of two characters: danger and opportunity. COVID 19 has given us the opportunity to be more mindful of how our actions can affect others and how we can reach out to others even at a distance. If you or anyone you know of in our community needs help in any way, please contact
Laura Lienhard laura_lienhard@hotmail.com (802) 236-7310 or
Linda Thomson Thomson131VT@gmail.com (802)-228-6275
Carolyn Gauthier, Susan Kneebone, Kathy Doyle, Annie Oakes,
Herb Van Guilder, Terry DeYoung, Ginny Kottkamp, James Almond,
Evelyn Tucker, Evelyn Verro, Pam Dundy, and Judy Edwards
continue to need our prayers, phone calls, cards, and emails or texts
We know the power of prayer. If you have others to add to our
prayer concerns, please email Thomson131VT@gmail.com
Thank You for Mailing in your Offering
Anne continues to be happy to receive your offering by mail. You have been very responsive, and we do continue to get your checks. This allows us to continue to pay our bills and pay the salaries of all our employees. These are very trying times and they are all so appreciative they do not have to have to try and collect unemployment!!
Please continue with your weekly offering by writing a check to The United Church and sending it in to Anne Oakes at 145 Merrill Rd., Ludlow, VT 05149.
Thank you so much.
Be Social
We just learned the Governor has extended the “Sheltering in Place” order until May 15 so we will not be seeing one another for a while. Remember however, you still can be and need to be social while sheltering in at home. You have lots of methods at your disposal so contact at least two friends or neighbors every day to check in or just be social! Use your land line, your cell phone, email, text, Facebook, messaging, Zoom or some other form of social media. It is so important for us all to be social with our acquaintances. You can even get some fresh air and exercise by inviting folks to go for a walk keeping 6 ft away. It does work!

Words to the Hymns for Easter Zoom Service
Christ the Lord is Risen Today
Christ the Lord is ris’n today, Alleluia
Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heav’ns, and earth, reply, Alleluia!
Hail the Lord of earth and heaven, Alleluia!
Praise to Thee by both be given, Alleluia!
Thee we greet triumphant now, Alleluia!
Hail the Resurrection, thou, Alleluia!
The day of Resurrection
The day of resurrection!
Earth, tell it out abroad;
the Passover of gladness,
the Passover of God.
From death to life eternal,
from earth unto the sky,
our Christ hath brought us over,
with hymns of victory.
Now let the heavens be joyful!
Let earth her song begin!
The round world keep high triumph,
and all that is therein!
Let all things seen and unseen
their notes in gladness blend,
for Christ the Lord hath risen,
our joy that hath no end.
Come, Ye Faithful, Raise the Strain
Come, ye faithful, raise the strain of triumphant gladness;
God hath brought forth Israel into joy from sadness,
loosed from Pharaoh's bitter yoke Jacob's sons and daughters,
led them with unmoistened foot through the Red Sea waters.
'Tis the spring of souls today; Christ hath burst his prison,
and from three days' sleep in death as a sun hath risen;
all the winter of our sins, long and dark, is flying
from his light, to whom we give laud and praise undying.
