Hymn Sing on September 7
By popular demand we will be having another hymn sing on Sunday September 7, to sing some favorites and hopefully to learn some new songs.
Our song leader will be George Thomson. Take some time during the upcoming weeks to reflect on your favorites and which hymns you would like the congregation to sing. Your choices may come from the Methodist Hymnal we use each Sunday or from another hymnal.
Email George directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. Given that this Sunday is the first Sunday of the month, the sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated the following Sunday, September 14.
Deacon Luncheon and Malayaka House – September 14
All are welcome to attend the deacon luncheon to be held on Sunday, September 14 in our fellowship hall in the church.
Robert Fleming, founder of Malayaka House in Uganda, Africa will be our guest speaker.
Malayaka House rescues orphaned and abandoned children in Uganda. They provide a secure home where the children can thrive in an environment of love. The Outreach/Mission Committee from the church support this orphanage with funds from its budget.
The luncheon will be held immediately following the service. The menu will include hoagies, homemade desserts and beverages. If you wish to help with providing food for the luncheon, see the sign up in the entry way of the church.
