Annual Meeting with Luncheon – November 13 – Following the Service of Worship Executive Committee – Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. Weekly Offerings Offerings and other cash receipts for the week of November 6 were $$1,684.00. The costs for each week are $1,438.46 (derived by dividing the annual budget by 52 weeks). Altar Guild Brenda Dansingburg will do the Altar Guild duties for the month of November. Coffee Hour A time of fellowship following the service of worship is held in the social hall. Coffee, juice and refreshments will be served. Ushers for the month of November This is a reminder for those of you who have signed up and a notice of those Sundays that are open. Estimates of Giving relate to the general operational budget and the building fund. They are a great help to the Executive Committee as it prepares the 2016-2017 budget. Please submit them as soon as possible. From the Executive Board Bob Kottkamp has announced that he will not stand for reelection to the office of Church President at the coming Annual Meeting in November. The Board asks that members of the congregation give serious consideration either to volunteering for the post or nominating others whom the Board might encourage. Bob is open to discussing the responsibilities of office with anyone including those potentially interested in the position and those wanting more information as part of nominating others. He does not believe it incumbent upon him to find a person to fill the position. Annual Congregational Meeting, Sunday, November 13 At our Annual Congregational Meeting following the service of worship on November 13, there will be a vote on parts of the Bylaws. The Bylaws requires that warning be given for two Sundays prior to a vote on Bylaw changes. This announcement constitutes the second warning. The first warning was sent to members via email on Sunday, November 6. For those interested in specifics, the proposed text will be found in the Annual Meeting Reports Package you will receive for the meeting. There are two areas of change. First, a new office of Vice President is created. Second, there are changes in the articles on calling a new pastor, specifically the make-up of the Pastoral Search Committee and the formal preparation and status to become a pastor. I want to have these changes made before I step down so that a new President will not confront what can be an intimidating process early on. There will be a luncheon to accompany the Meeting.
