He will perform the very recently completed, Bach Variations Project. It is a very exciting work of old and new, in that it consists of the famous “tour de force”, Goldberg Variations, with newly commissioned variations composed by Nick Hubbell and others. UNITED CHURCH HOSTS MALAYAKA HOUSE FOUNDER On Tuesday, August 28th at 7:00 pm, Robert Fleming will describe recent events at Malayaka House (“MH”), the small Entebbe Uganda orphanage he founded in 2005. Amy Carst, MH’s US representative, also will have comments and will have MH crafts available for purchase (great Christmas gifts). MH is delightfully different than the stereotype view of orphanages prevalent in the United States. The public is invited to attend this event. Desserts and beverages will be served. Robert traveled to Uganda and became aware of the urgent needs of ill and abandoned children. An unlikely activist, he was inspired to found MH. Today, that home in Entebbe provides love, shelter, education, nutrition, medical care, safety and opportunity to a beautiful family of about 50 children. This is possible due to support from friends around the world and, in particular, from friends in the greater Ludlow area. MH’s story is amazing, and no one tells it better than Robert. Come and be amazed! Any questions concerning this MH event should be directed to David Almond at [email protected] or 802-228-2414.
