Estimates of Giving relate to the general operational budget and the building fund. They are a great help to the Executive Committee as it prepares the 2015-2016 budget. Please submit them as soon as possible. Reformation Sunday, October 25 On Reformation Sunday, Rev. Harpster will dedicate gifts to the church that have been made in the past year. Members and friends of the church also have the opportunity to present monetary gifts in memory or in honor of individuals. A dedication form is provided with this week’s bulletin. To be included in the bulletin for Reformation Sunday, all gifts made out to United Church of Ludlow should be in the church office by Wednesday, October 21. Harvest Supper at Peplau’s Happy Acres All of our church friends are invited to our Harvest Supper on Saturday, October 17 at 6 P.M. at our farm in S. Reading, VT. Our menu will be food that we have raised or harvested from the land. Just bring yourself and whatever you would like to drink. If you are planning on coming, just let us know by calling 484-7806. Reading Harvest Home Sunday, October 18 The annual service of Harvest Home will be celebrated on Sunday, October 18. Gifts of food items to the Good Neighbors Food Shelf are encouraged. The following is a list of food most needed by the Food Shelf: canned fruits, esp. apple sauce, pancake mix and syrup, cereal, tuna fish, canned meats, canned vegetables, evaporated milk, crackers, and pasta or rice sides. Monetary gifts are also encouraged. Checks should be made out to United Church of Ludlow specified for the Good Neighbors Food Shelf. An offering envelope is provided for your convenience. Windham-Union Association (UCC) Fall Meeting The Vermont Interfaith Action and Public Assets Institute will be the featured speakers at the Windham-Union Association meeting on Sunday, November 1st from 2:00 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. at the First Congregational Church of Springfield. Their presentation, which they have been sharing with people of faith throughout the state, will focus on“Building Vermont’s Moral Economy.” Learn how income inequality is being caused by inequities in our systems, even in progressive Vermont, and discover ways to take action toward positive change.
