Deacon’s Meeting – Today, after Service of Worship. Annual Meeting – Sunday, November 10. Weekly Offerings Offerings and other cash receipts for the week of October 13 were $717.00 and for the week of October 20 were $706.00. The cost of each week is $1,330.00 (derived by dividing the annual budget by 52 weeks). Altar Guild Betty Helberg is serving as the Altar Guild person during the month of October. Reformation Sunday On Sunday, October 27, Harpster will remember members who died this past year and dedicate gifts to the church during that time period. Coffee Hour A time of fellowship following the service of worship is held in the social hall. Coffee, juice and refreshments will be served. Estimate of Giving Forms Kindly submit your Estimate of Giving form. This will help your Executive Board in planning for next year. Service of Harvest Home The annual service of Harvest Home will be celebrated on Sunday, November 10. Gifts of food items to the Good Neighbors Food Shelf are encouraged. The following is a list of food most needed by the Food Shelf: canned fruits, esp. apple sauce, pancake mix and syrup, cereal, tuna fish, canned meats, canned vegetables, evaporated milk, crackers, and pasta or rice sides. Monetary gifts are also encouraged. Checks should be made out to United Church of Ludlow specified for the Good Neighbors Food Shelf. Robert Fleming from Malayaka House Robert Fleming will visit the Church at 7:00 P.M. in the Ladies Parlor on Wednesday, November 6th to speak about Malayaka House, the Entebbe, Uganda, orphanage he founded eight years ago. Malayaka House is one of several organizations being considered in the Church's revision of our Outreach Program. Malayaka House is a small organization (37 children) with roots and much support here in Vermont. Robert is an engaging speaker, and the mission of Malayaka House is heartwarming. Please plan on attending this meeting to hear the Malayaka House story first-hand. Vermont Conference of the UCC Fall Meeting The Windham Union Association, Vermont Conference of the United Church of Christ, will hold its fall meeting on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Centre Congregational Church, 193 Main Street, Brattleboro, Vermont. The Reverend Jim Antal, Conference Minister and President of the Mass. Conference, UCC will speak on the subject, “The Vocation of the Church and Climate Change – Leading the Next Moral Revolution.” All are invited to hear his address and a reception which will follow.
