A Thank-You from our Organist
Your aged organist, Ed Boadway, wishes to thank all who sang “For he’s a jolly good fellow” so lustily at the last Fellowship Hour.

And the cake even had the organ’s black walnut stop knob shanks duplicated with Tootsie Rolls!  It was the memorable creation of chef Sandy Peplau, assisted by carpenter Bob Kottkamp.

Lenten Bible Study
World Religions will be the topic for the 2016 Lenten Bible Study.

The topic for our consideration will be Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and another religion to be announced.

The book for the course is Michael McDowell and Nathan Robert Brown, World Religions at Your Fingertips.  New York:  Alpha Books, the Penguin Group, 2009.  Copies of the book are available for $16.00.  See Bill Kneebone for your copy.

Additional religious texts and assignments will be distributed in the class and posted on the webpage of the church.

The class will meet in the Ladies Parlor on Wednesday afternoons at 2:00 P.M. beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 10.
The other sessions will be held on February 17, February 24, March 2, March 9, March 16, and March 23.  All are cordially invited to attend.

VALENTINE’S DAY DINNER
The Annual Valentine’s Day Dinner will again be held on Friday, February 12 at the Landgrove Inn. This has been a well-attended tradition over the years.

To get started, we need to know the number of people who wish to attend. This joyful event is for everyone; you just need to be yourself, not part of a couple.

Typically there is a choice of entrée; the meals are great as are the desserts.
At this point we just need to know names and numbers so that negotiations on specifics can go forward with the inn keepers. Please contact David Almond or Bob Kottkamp if interested.
