Pentecost Sunday
Pentecost Sunday, the birthday of the Christian Church, will be observed on May 19.  It will also be a special Sunday in the life of United Church of Ludlow as the rite of confirmation will be administered to Jakob and Lukas DeArruda. A luncheon in honor of the confirmands will be given by the Deacons following the worship service.  All are invited. Be sure to wear red, the liturgical color of the Day.
Learn to Serve Communion
For the next three months on the first Sunday of the month there will be a "Shadowing Sunday" for those of you who want to learn how to serve communion.  Come see the process of serving communion from start to finish.
If interested, be at the church on Sunday, June 2, at 9:45 am. We have the servers, you will just be watching the process.

New Church Website Content
You will find completely new content on the Church Website: www.unitedchurch.us.  David Hearne has done the design and creation work. We thank him profusely for the extraordinary amount of time he has put into this work.
A committee of three, Fred Marin, Sandra Russo, and Bob Kottkamp, is working with David to make revisions, add new content, open new pages over time, and keep the site current. New elements include a calendar displaying regular meetings and special events and a prayer request page for you to leave information about those in need of support.
Please make use of this new communication tool. Please send suggestions for edits and additions. You can do so by using the Contact Form on the website!

Oral appeal arguments in the Phyllis Agan Suit, “Curran vs. The Building Fund of the United Church, et al.”, will be heard by the Vermont Supreme Court on Thursday, May 23, at 11:00 AM in Montpelier. Our attorneys urge us to have as many representatives present as possible. There are 14 defendant Ludlow based nonprofits/charities. Many of us have interests in one or more other organizations beyond the church. Car pooling is suggested. Contact Bob Kottkamp for full logistics and to request a ride or offer to drive: rkottkamp@gmail.com, 228-6282.

How to receive frequent updates on Larry Humm’s recuperation
It was evident from questions asked at last Sunday’s service that not all of us are using the website Caring Bridge to receive frequent updates on Larry.
If you are not receiving notifications in your email and would like to receive Dottie’s typically daily reports, here is what to do.
Go to caringbridge.org. Join the site. Your user name is your email address, and you will create a password. Once you are a member, go to the address:  http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/larryhumm . You will be asked for your user name (email address) and password. You will be directed to Larry’s private account. It will ask for his password, which is “skipal” (lower case). This will take you to the posts Dottie put up.
Dottie has received “help” messages from some people having difficulty getting on Larry’s account. Her directions are:
If when you try the link, you get something about “the certificate is not current” and it gives you a choice to continue (with a warning “not recommended” – click on this anyway; it is the only way a new registrant can get on – it IS safe for this link ONLY.)
