A warm welcome to all visitors.  If the Pastor or any member of the
congregation may be of service to you, please contact the church office at
802-228-4211 or Rev. Harpster at 802-875-8895. His email is harpsterd@vermontel.net.

Upcoming Meetings
Women’s Group - Every Wednesday at 10:00 AM

Weekly Offerings
Offerings and other cash receipts for the week of July 21 were $1,331.00. The
cost for each week is $1,330.00 (derived by dividing the annual budget by 52
weeks).

Altar Guild
Jean Eggleston and Laura Caravatt will be sharing the Altar Guild responsibilities for June, July and August.  Jean will take care of the altar and Laura will display her beautiful flowers.

Hymn Sing
The church will hold a "Hymn Sing" on Sunday, July 28th during the worship service.  Take some
time to reflect on what songs you would like the congregation to sing.

Coffee Hour
A time of fellowship following the service of worship is held in the social
hall. Coffee, juice and refreshments will be served.

Learn to Serve Communion
For the next three months on the first Sunday of the month, there will be a
"Shadowing Sunday" for those of you who want to learn how to serve
communion.  Come see the process of serving communion from start to finish.
If interested, be at the church on Sunday, August 4, at 9:45 AM. We have the
servers; you will just be watching the process.

Women’s Group -  Luncheon and Tag Sale
The United Church Women will have their annual tag sale and luncheon on
Saturday, August 24.  Please look for items to donate to the tag
sale.  A sign-up sheet is in the front hall for help with both of these
events.  Help is needed most of the day.

Congregational Singing Practice
Occasional choir singers and members of the congregation  who would like
to "go over" the music for a Sunday service should come up to the organ before
9:50 AM, with hymnal in hand, when Ed is on duty.  However, he is usually
on New Hampshire organ benches on the third Sunday of each month.

Drivers for The Blind Needed
The Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (VABVI) has an
immediate URGENT need for volunteer drivers in and around the Ludlow area to get
people where they need to go.

Clients of VABVI cannot drive which causes a serious problem for them,
forcing them to rely on others.  They need to put food on their tables, get
to vital medical appointments and run important errands.  The Volunteer
Pool in the Ludlow area is very low and they greatly need help so clients can
meet their daily living needs.  The VABVI’s Volunteer Transportation Program provides
free personalized transportation services.

Come and be a part of something wonderful by joining our team of
inspirational volunteers. Volunteer Drivers work on an “as needed” basis and are
free to accept or decline any trip to suit their own schedules.  Volunteer
as much or as little as you have time for.

Drivers receive mileage reimbursements for the use of their cars.  If
you can help or would like more information, call toll free at
1-877-350-8840.  VABVI is a non-profit organization providing a wide array of services to
Vermonters with vision loss.

Church Back Door
At its last meeting, the Executive Board made the decision that only the front door will be open when our secretary, Sandra Russo, is in the office during her regular hours on Wednesday and Friday.  This new practice provides greater security for Sandra and the church as a whole.  Those with back door keys: if you enter that door on Wednesday or Friday afternoon, please stop by the office to let Sandra know that you are in the building.

Vivian Cravens Blodgett
Our sympathy is extended to the family of Vivian Cravens Blodgett, who died on June 9, 2013.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at the church on Saturday, July 6.
Coffee hour at 9:00 AM and service at 10:00 AM.
All are welcome to attend.
