One person’s unwanted shoes can help provide meaningful opportunities that many in developing nations need, which is why Engel & Volkers has launched a SHOE DRIVE to collect 5,000 pairs of new or gently used shoes.

The shoes that Engel & Volkers collects will be delivered to Soles4Souls – a non-profit social enterprise that creates sustainable jobs and provides relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world.

Founded in 2006, the organization has distributed more than 30 million pairs of new and used shoes in 127 countries.

The United Church of Ludlow is participating in this program.  During the month of May you will find a drop box in our outside front entrance. Kindly make your shoe donation.  Engel & Volkers will pick up the shoes on a weekly basis.

Thank you for your contribution.

Earth Day 2018
Today, April 22nd is Earth Day with the theme of working to end plastic pollution of our planet.

Fortunately for us and the planet, many factors coincided to bring about the very first Earth Day in 1970.

Rachel Carson published her bestseller Silent Spring in 1962. Earth Day founder Gaylord Nelson was inspired by the student anti-war movement and worked to bring about awareness of air and water pollution.
