His email is harpsterd@vermontel.net.  Please be sure to sign the guestbook located at the entrance to the church.

Upcoming Meetings/Events
-Executive Committee, Wednesday, February 26, at 7:00 P.M.
-Reaching New People Committee, Thursday, March 5, at 7:00 P.M.

Weekly Offerings
Offerings and other cash receipts for the week ending February 16 were $1,560. The costs for each week are $1,188.00. (derived by dividing the annual budget by 52 weeks).

Altar Guild
Linda Alexander will do the Altar Guild duties for the month of February.

Coffee Hour
A time of fellowship following the service of worship is held in the social hall. Coffee, juice and refreshments will be served.

Elevator Construction
As you can see by the construction equipment out back, the handicapped access project has finally begun.  It is so exciting to have this started.

Until it is completed, we will all have to use the front entrance to the church.  We can still park in the back if space is available, but you will enter through the front door.

The Ludlow Health Center is graciously allowing us to park in the back of their building during church service times.  They do ask that cars be moved after services.  See map below.

The contractor said he will try to not completely block the door so we could use it as an emergency exit if necessary.  Richard will be keeping the walkways in the front cleared of snow for us all to use.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but it will all be worth it, once the project is completed.

Time to tighten up!
It is wonderful to have the church building used; however, we have a few requests.

To help with the heating costs…
When you leave, please make sure the doors between the main foyer and the kitchen and fellowship hall are closed.

If you use the upstairs, please make sure the double doors are closed as is the door to the ladies parlor.

If you turned up the heat, please make sure to reduce it to 50 degrees.

It is amazing how much this will save on heating costs.

Thank you.

Windham Union Association Pulpit Exchange, March 15
The Windham Union Association, Vermont Conference UCC will hold a pulpit exchange on March 15.

The response from pastors and congregations has been quite positive with nine clergy participating in the event.

Pastor Harpster will be preaching at Centre Congregational Church UCC in Battleboro.

Pastor Jeremy Kirk of the West Dover Congregational Church UCC in West Dover, Vermont will preach at United Church of Ludlow.

Good-bye to my dear church family….
March 1st will be my last bulletin as your Church Secretary.  I’ve decided to allow myself some needed flexibility to visit friends and family that all live out of state.

I’ve had the joy of working for the church for seven years…can you believe it!  During those years you have been supportive of me through the good and not so good times and recently when I lost my husband. I have always felt very comforted by your caring.

So, although I am saying good-bye…it is just as your Church Secretary.  I will still attend services at times and go to your lovely social events.

But most of all, I never want to say good-bye to the wonderful kind and caring people of the church.  I will always cherish your friendship…Sandra.

Welcome to our new Administrative Assistant
It is with great pleasure that the Executive Board of the United Church informs the congregation of the hiring of Fred Marin as the new Administrative Assistant (formerly called Church Secretary) of the church.

Fred will be starting his new role on March 1. He will officially be in the office of the church on Fridays from 3 – 5.

Fred is very comfortable with technology and he will be able to accomplish remotely much of the work required for the church.

He will be readily available for everyone to reach at unitedchurch@tds.net or by calling the church at 228-4211 on Fridays.

We are very excited to have Fred assume this role and look forward to working with him and tapping his many talents.

Thanks to Nancy and all the busy sewing bees
for making the hearts that are displayed all around town and to those who distributed them.

They look wonderful and are a topic of conversation as people wonder where they came from and why.  Many were delivered to special individuals throughout the town and some were placed in visible locations around town.

What a wonderful gift of love the United Church gave to Ludlow.  Thanks for this outreach to everyone who helped in any way.
